RC Sailplane Slope Soaring In Southern Ireland

RC sailplane slope soaring video series by rcxorph on Youtube. Beautiful scenery from the Knockmealdown Mountains and slope soaring RC sailplane action at it’s finest. Loving it!

Check the videos below to see the RC glider plane action yourself. I added some info from the video descriptions, so you’ll know what the sailplane is and all that.

RC Slope Soaring in Southern Ireland (part 1)

Slope soaring over Knockmealdown Mountains, Co. Waterford, Ireland. The RC glider plane, nicknamed “Flying Frog”, is a crossbreed of a HKM Space Pro (3.35 m wing with RG15 airfoil) and a NAN Shadow (fuselage and V-tail).

RC Slope Soaring in Southern Ireland (part 2)

Another nice day of slope soaring over Knockmealdown Mountains, Co. Waterford, Ireland. Wind was gusty at force 3-5, coming from SW to W, which allowed for higher speeds but made landing tricky…

The RC sailplane, “Flying Frog”, is a crossbreed of a NAN Shadow fuselage + V-tail bearing an HKM Space Pro wing (3.35 m, RG15). Flown with no added weight, thus the plane is slower than theoretically possible.
